About - how it began

Letterpress Love began at 3am.

Not with a business plan. Not with a mood board. With a meditation recording playing in the dark during the hardest stretch of my life. Nights where sleep wouldn't come — and somewhere in the noise, a phrase came through.

The Attitude is Gratitude.

I started a 20-minute morning practice. Just sitting with what was still there. And then sitting with what was to come. And slowly, things shifted. Magic appeared. I would not have believed it a year before.

There are many chapters in a life. The creative part — the part that thinks in images, that looks around corners at what people are quietly feeling — doesn't always get its turn. I kept waiting for the right moment to give it one. I don't think that moment was ever going to arrive from out there.

So here we are.

What I keep seeing, underneath everything, is people who are tired of performing. Carrying more than anyone around them knows. Occasionally catching themselves wondering if there's something they've forgotten. There is.  Wisdom. The simple true things that were always theirs.

Wisdom is everywhere. We forget it constantly — not because we're stupid, but because life is loud and nobody gave us permission to stop and remember. These prints are that permission. I'm not putting wisdom on your wall. I'm giving yours back to you.

And it has to be letterpress, because you don't walk past a letterpress print. The presses are Victorian. The type is wood from the late 1800s/early 1900s. Ink pushed into paper rather than laid on top of it — something you can feel with your fingertip. The things that cost real effort are the things you actually see. Every morning.

Every detail was chosen on purpose. The paper, the typefaces, the pressure. When there wasn't a matching 'u' for Attitude is Gratitude, the smaller size was used— slightly imperfect, slightly out of scale. That's not a flaw. That's the print being honest about how it came to be. Every print is unique. Small imperfections give it character.

Each design comes from a real moment. A phrase heard in the small hours. Words passed between young adults. A long-running threat to print life philosophy on hoodies for two teenage boys who needed reminding that kindness isn't complicated. More moments will come. More prints will land.

Hand-pressed. Hand-numbered. Made slowly, because that's the only way they work.
